Recommended Supplies

Below is a list of our recommended puppy supplies for training, safety, and enrichment!

During your puppy's Board & Train Program, all supplies will be provided with the exception of their food. You are not required to purchase any of these before training; however, we do advise that you obtain some of the tools we use prior to graduation so you can stay as consistent as possible.

The Crate

The crate is great! The crate is not only the safest place for your puppy to be when unattended, but it also serves as an excellent potty-training tool. Additionally, spending time in the crate daily (after a strong positive association has been established) can significantly reduce the risk of separation anxiety.

Elevated Dog Bed

The elevated dog bed is used to teach our students the "place" command as well as "stay." They are also excellent for keeping dogs cool! We use them both indoors and outdoors during training.

Martingale Collar

Martingale collars are some of the safest on the market! The extra loop of fabric allows the collar to remain comfortable and loose at rest while also preventing the dog from slipping out of it when being held or connected to a leash. In order for traditional flat collars to be used safely, they must remain far tighter than a martingale.

Two Handle Leash

Having two handles is a game changer when it comes to controlling your dog on a leash and keeping them safe! They are also a huge help when your pup is just leaning to heel. We love this one because of the padding on the handles and reflective stitching.

Voyager Harness

A harness keeps strain off of your puppy's neck while also giving you more control. We recommend voyagers for our youngest students because the mesh style keeps the pup comfy and they are at a price point that they can easily be replaced as your pup outgrows them. It is essential that a harness have a snug fit and not be too large to avoid them slipping out

Easy-Walk Harness

The Easy Walk Harness is an excellent tool for teaching heel. It is front clipping and similar to a martingale collar in that it has an extra loop of fabric that gives you more control when walking your dog. This is the harness we recommend to our older or larger students or any pup that is struggling on leash.

Treat Pouch

Being a positive-reinforcement-only training academy, treats are a huge part of our program. Having treats with you consistently will help ensure you reward and motivate your pup at the right time.

A puppy Kong is a must-have! Fill it with the brand's puppy proof Stuff'N and freeze it for a long lasting and delicious teething solution.

Puzzle Toys

Mental stimulation is an essential element of your pup's daily routine. Puzzle toys help keep your puppy busy and aid in building their problem solving skills. These interactive toys can also help reduce boredom and anxiety.

Snuffle Mat

We are obsessed with Snuffle Mats! These fun and interactive mats can serve as a way to slow down a quick eater at meal time, provide the perfect rainy-day activity, add in some mental stimulation, and help prevent boredom.

Slow Feeder

Help your puppy slow down and enjoy every bite of their food. Slow feeders are a great tool for pups that eat too fast. They reduce the risk of tummy upset for quick eaters and add mental stimulation. Slow feeders are also helpful for reducing the risk of bloat which large and massive breeds can be prone to.

Pet First Aid Kit

Having first aid supplies on hand for your pup is never a bad idea. Be prepared in the event that your pup is injured or sick. We love this kit because it comes with a thermometer (trust us, you don’t want to be forced to use your own).
